DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

Who We Are

A Discipleship Group is a gender-specific group of 4-5 people (including the leader) who meet together weekly for 6-9 months for the purpose of spiritual transformation. Other groups exist for the purposes of community growth, fellowship, service and learning, but Discipleship Groups focus on growing a deeper relationship with Christ. The format of a Discipleship Group is not one of a teacher-student, but rather a roundtable discussion that is anchored in the CALL Process.

What is the CALL Process?

Each Discipleship Group gathering follows the same 4-step CALL Process.

  1. Celebrate: Share where you saw God at work the past week in you, around you and through you.
  2. Action: Share how you lived out what you heard from Jesus in response to the Scripture. Be encouraged and surrounded with prayer.
  3. Learn It: Engage in Discovery Bible Study. Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal His truth about the Scripture and what it is saying to you at the same time.
  4. Live It: Be still. Use your journal to write what you hear Jesus say to you and how you will respond. Listen and obey throughout the week.

What is a Discovery Bible Study?

A Discovery Bible Study (DBS) is a discipleship study which enables people to read the Bible and discover what it has to say to them. Discovery Bible Studies work best in small groups, preferably people who already know each other. Simple, memorable questions allow participants to understand the character of God, encourage them to obey what they are learning and help them to share it with others.

The simple questions are…

  1. What happens in this passage?
  2. What does the Scripture say that is true about God
  3. What does the Scripture say that is true about people?
  4. What is the main point of this Scripture and why is it in the Bible?

When Do We Meet

Each Discipleship Group decides the day, time and location for gatherings.
