The Student Ministry here at LTUMC is open for all students grades 6th through 12th as well as our college students. We connect students in a growing and lasting relationship with Jesus Christ through various gatherings, programs and events.

This is an awesome opportunity for students and their friends to come, gather and hang out with us for a greatevening. We kick off at 5pm in the MAC Hall for open gym time. Then at 5:15pm, we gather for opening prayer and a large group game or activity. Afterwards, we meet in the Youth Lounge (upstairs) for a message series, followed by a time to share joys and concerns and a closing prayer to wrap up by 6:30pm. This is open to all students grades 6th through 12th.

Our Confirmation class is for our current 6th graders. We meet during the Sunday school hour. Classes begin in January and conclude with Confirmation Sunday when students are confirmed at 11am Worship Service. If you are interested in participating please email Pastor Pam Sheffield.

Open Loft is part of our Wednesday Night Live programming. It meets from 5:30 – 7:30pm on Wednesday whenever WNL is in session. We meet in the Ministry Activities Center (MAC) in Rooms 201/202. It’s a time to hang out, do homework, play games and socialize with friends.

Acolytes bring the ‘light of God’ into the sanctuary, and at the end of service they take the ‘light of God’ out into the world, where believers are called to serve. Our acolytes are very important leaders in our weekly worship service at both 8:30 am and 11am. Students who are in the 5th grade or older are eligible to serve this important ministry at our church. Contact Helen Howard for more details.

Come and join the ASAP Puppet team (That means: Always Send a Puppet). All students are welcome, no experience necessary. Just bring your hands and we’ll help with the rest! We have a fabulous collection of professional puppets; we have lights, music and scripts, WE JUST NEED YOU! ASAP Puppet Team meets as needed for practice. Find us at the stage in the Fellowship Hall. Email Patty Rosemurgy  for more information.

The sounds of ringing bells bring such joy and excitement to any gathering. Come be a part of the youth handbell choir. Don’t read music? No worries! Our awesome leaders can quickly show you how to play. Our youth ring throughout the school year. We meet Sundays 6:30-7:15pm. Email Patty Highland  for more details.

Our Youth Choir rehearses Sundays from 4:15-5pm. This is a combined choir for both middle school and high school students. Music ranges from classical pieces to contemporary praise and worship songs. Our students have opportunities to sing during worship and special services. For more details, email Patty Highland.

We offer a variety of activities and programming throughout the summer.
A few of our summer activities include:

  • Coninue meeting weekly for Sunday CRASH, 5pm-6:30pm
  • Youth Mission Trip
  • Summer Bible Study and Sunday School
  • Youth Assistants for Vacation Bible School
  • Several off-campus events to parks, bowling, swimming, etc.

In January, we load up and head to Camp Eagle out in Rocksprings, TX. It’s a weekend away from cell phones, TV, and all the distractions of life. We engage in worship and large and small group studies. There’s plenty of exciting outdoor activities such as The Super Zip-Line 3000, Dart Tag, and other challenging games. The fun continues with late night activities such as a bonfire and late night zip-line. We do this all this in the beautiful surroundings of mountains and beautiful skies at camp.

To keep up to date on all youth activities, ways to help and to see photos from events, please email Pastor Pam Sheffield to receive the weekly Youth Newsletter emailed to you.
