We treasure children at Lake Travis United Methodist Church! Children’s Choir is a unique opportunity for children to participate in a group that serves and praises God through music. Children learn about teamwork and develop musical skills while learning Biblical truths through music, activities and fun!
Our Children’s Choir Ministry includes children from Preschoolers (4 & 5 yr olds) through 5th grade. We offer wonderful opportunities for children and their families to deepen their spiritual connections with God and each other through musical expression.
Each Sunday, during Kids Church, preschool and young elementary aged children meet for a time of music. Several times a semester, they present songs in worship.
The Children’s Choirs sing and rehearse as part of Wednesday Night Live (WNL) program. These choirs share music in worship several times a semester. The children also prepare and present a Children’s Christmas Program and special music during Holy Week.
Cherub Choir: Preschoolers (4 and 5 year olds, and 1st graders)
Share their WNL time with both singing age-appropriate Christian songs and learning Bible stories with their “Bible Zone” time.
Saints Choir: Early elementary aged children (Grades 2 and 3)
Share their WNL time with “ringing and singing time” (ringing chimes!) and “Bible Zone” time (learning Bible stories).
Prime Time Chimers: (Older elementary: 4th and 5th grade)
Children are taught how to read music and ring hand chimes (an instrument related to handbells.) Then the group plays music several times throughout the year for both worship services and special events.
