Welcome to Lake Travis United Methodist Church!

We know that going to a church for the first time can be intimidating. And it’s even more uncomfortable when you don’t know what to expect. Hopefully, our Frequently Asked Questions will help you feel assured of what to expect when you visit for the first time. If you have any questions, please email us at erin.gholson@ltumc.org or call 512.266.9877.

Where do I park?
We have parking spaces reserved for “First Time Visitors”. They are located between the Chesnutt Building and the Sanctuary Building, just to the right of the Campus Map banner. You can see the location of these parking spaces on the Campus Map page.

What is your style of worship?
At LTUMC we offer a traditional service at 8:30am and an 11:00am service that combines traditional and contemporary elements. The 8:30 am service celebrates Holy Communion at each service. The 11:00am service celebrates Communion on the first Sunday of the month. Communion is open to everyone – you do not need to be a member. On the 2nd Sunday of each month, we also offer a Sunday Evening Prayer Service in the Taizé style at 6:00 pm. See a full description of each service on our Worship page to learn which service is the best fit for you.

How long are your services?
Both of our worship services are scheduled for one hour.

Is childcare available?
Yes, we provide childcare during all three worship services. The nursery is located in the Chesnutt Building. Young children can participate in Young Disciples time during each worship service before going to the nursery. Visit our Nursery page for more details.

What should I wear?
We’re a casual environment and welcome everyone to come as they are. You may find both men and women dressed up, (men in coats and ties and women in dresses) but you’ll also find many in blue jeans, shorts and tee shirts. Whatever you’re wearing, we’ll be glad to see you!

Where should I sit in the sanctuary?
Sit anywhere you like – there’s no reserved or assigned seating.
