We welcome you to grow in your discipleship and be part of the story that is Jesus Christ and Lake Travis United Methodist Church. As long as there are people who are in need and pain, and who do not know the love and joy of Jesus Christ, our story will go on.

The first meeting to discuss organizing a United Methodist church in the Lake Travis area was called by Marsha Kulpa for January 12, 1988 with 10 persons present. First meetings were held at the Lakeway Inn. Then we met in an office building.  We were constituted as a church of the Southwest Texas Conference on January 15, 1989 with 57 charter members. The pastor for the first eight and one-half years was Clyde W. Chesnutt.

The church moved into its first building in May 1993 with 266 members. Four more classrooms were added in 1996. This first building was named in honor of Clyde and Dotsy Chesnutt following their retirement in June, 1997.

In June of 1997, Rev. Ronald and Rev. Linda Jean Myers were appointed to serve as pastors. The church continued to add programs and staff while significant growth offered the church exciting challenges and rewards for ministry.

Construction of our sanctuary building was completed in April, 2000. The congregation celebrated its first worship service in the new building on Sunday, April 9, 2000.

Dr. Ray Kiser was appointed as senior pastor in June of 2009. Our new Ministry Activities Center (MAC) was opened In 2011. Our church now includes over 1300 members who have united with us as professed disciples of Jesus Christ.

In 2014 we celebrated our 25th Anniversary with an inspiring week of activity that included guest leadership by Ken Medema.
